Console Connect launches eSIM service for the conference, events and hospitality sector

28th February 2022November 29th, 2023

This week at Mobile World Congress, Console Connect has launched a new consumer eSIM service that has been specially designed to meet the international mobility connectivity needs of the conference, events and hospitality sector.

Through the Console Connect eSIM service, conference and event organisers can support delegates returning to in-person events this year with a seamless and secure roaming service. The eSIM offers truly global coverage through Console Connect’s extensive worldwide mobile 5G partner networks and our global points of presence.

The eSIM solution can form part of a value-added service offering for conference and event organisers, delivering additional revenues and supporting their overall digital transformation strategy.

“Following two years of disruption, the conference and exhibition industry is set to recover in 2022 and delegates are looking forward to travelling again. Our eSIM service allows the conference industry to deliver an enhanced experience for their returning delegates, who can enjoy seamless roaming service from anywhere in the world,” says Emmanuel Bain, SVP, Mobility and Voice, Console Connect.

In-person meetings and events are predicted to grow during 2022, with 81% of events expected to have an in-person element, according to an annual report by American Express. The GSMA expects attendance at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to be similar to pre-COVID figures.

eSIMs are a popular way for travellers to securely connect their devices to local networks around the world without the use of a physical SIM card. The growth in eSIM compatible smartphones is creating new opportunities for network operators, and according to GSMA Intelligence, eSIM connections will reach 33% of all smartphone connections by 2025.

Console Connect’s consumer eSIM service can also support MNOs and MVNOs with the roaming needs of their customers. To find out more about our new eSIM service contact: [email protected]
