Console Connect activated in many more data centres across the UK

3rd July 2020November 29th, 2023

We are pleased to announce that Console Connect has been activated in many more data centres across the UK, providing customers with access to new UK cities as well as offering more interconnect choice in London.

Over the last few months, we’ve been busy growing our partner ecosystem, which has allowed us to increase the number of Console Connect-enabled data centres in the UK.

The availability of Console Connect in data centres across the country will enable local businesses and multinationals to access our growing ecosystem of cloud and SaaS providers, as well as seamlessly connect to over 300 data centres in around 40 countries.

What does this mean for our customers?

The expansion means unrivalled interconnect choice in the UK capital. London is one of Europe’s largest and most advanced data centre hubs, boasting unparalleled access to mainland Europe and most other continents.

In particular, investment has poured into the Docklands, which is located in the very heart of the city’s business district. Today, the Docklands is home to many major carriers, enterprises and cloud providers that serve the capital city.

One of our new UK partners is IP House, which offers a purpose built, enterprise-class colocation data centre, located in the heart of London’s Docklands. Designed to Tier III classification, the facility offers 560 racks covering 14,221 square feet and is equipped with the latest power, monitoring and security systems.

We’ve also expanded our partnership with Cyxtera to make Console Connect available in its data centres in London Docklands, Slough and Reading.

In proximity to London, both Reading and Slough are emerging as popular data centre locations. The Berkshire towns are more affordable than central London locations and are already home to a growing number of tech companies.

Console Connect has also been enabled in multiple data centres in Manchester. The northern city is rivalling London as a technology hub, and in particular has seen a growth in media, digital and e-commerce companies over the past decade. This has led to investment in the city’s data centre facilities.

We are expanding across Europe…

The availability of more Console Connect-enabled data centres across the UK forms part of a wider expansion programme across Europe, and follows the news that we are now live in Ireland for the first time.
