IoT Partner Use Case
A next-generation, secure IoT device access system
Omnibud is an expert solution provider in IoT
security systems.
Challenge
Today, it is very common to use OTP (One-Time-Passwords) to access websites and services. For example, this might be when a customer would receive an SMS on their mobile phone when attempting to log onto secure websites or using banking services – in addition to providing their user name and password. But how would the same security measures be deployed when accessing a device, such as an IP camera, a car cam, a smart lock or a router?
Using the One-time-Password (OTP) security methodology not only provides an extra layer of defence against hacking, but every attempted entry will trigger a request to the legitimate owner of the IoT device. With the use of API (Application Program Interface), these procedures can be automated and enable many other variations, such as remotely granting one-time-entry to smart locks, auto-access logging or interactive permission authentication.
Solution
The solution is the patented AOTP (Active One-Time-Password) Technology developed by Omnibud. A customised security system that can be made for government or corporations or be deployed as a Security-as-a-Service (SECaaS). The solution consists of a system of servers using E.164 Authenticated Routing (EAR), AAV (Access Authorisation Verification), LAV (Legitimate Access Verification) and EAR SOC (EAR Security Operation Centre) Technology.

We have solved an important problem with human-to-IoT device authentication and remote permission delegation. Together with PCCW Global, we can provide this security solution to public and private sectors globally for large scale IoT projects. We are really looking forward to a brave new world that is getting more and more connected every day
