Console Connect is pleased to announce that our users can now access and pay for on-demand, high-performance remote peering services at AMS-IX Amsterdam, one of the largest hubs for internet traffic in the world.

As an AMS-IX reselling partner, Console Connect now enables users to buy, order and provision peering services from AMS-IX and directly manage their service and connectivity through one platform.

Using Console Connect, a business can order dedicated, uncontended Layer 2 services and directly interconnect to AMS-IX Amsterdam from over 55 countries worldwide. The interconnection to AMS-IX is available on-demand and uses a pay-as-you-go model, which can be managed alongside your AMS-IX peering charges through our online portal.

AMS-IX is one of the world’s largest public peering interconnection platforms and is responsible for exchanging large amounts of global IP traffic. It offers access to over 885 connected networks and in 2020, Amsterdam AMS-IX reached a new record peak traffic of over 10 Terabits per second.

By remotely peering at AMS-IX through Console Connect, companies like internet service providers, telecom operators, enterprises and cloud providers can easily improve the performance of their IP-network and achieve low-latency and cost-effective interconnection, which enables them to improve the online experience for their end-users.

Launched earlier this year, Console Connect’s IX-as-a-Service (IXaaS) is making it easier, faster and more flexible for businesses to order, provision and pay for IX services from some of the world’s largest Internet Exchanges (IXs). Available through the Console Connect MeetingPlace, IXaaS offers high-performance remote peering with multiple exchanges across the world, including DE-CIX, LINX, SGIX, EdgeIX, KINX, JPNAP and HKIX – enabling our users to manage their IX services and connections through our user-friendly management portal.

A range of on-demand services are now available through just one Console Connect Access Port, including layer 2 connections between 650+ data centres, and direct connections to all the world’s leading cloud providers and SaaS partners. A range of partner services, such as colocation, SaaS and business applications, as well as home-grown features and solutions from PCCW Global, are also available through MeetingPlace.

“We are delighted to welcome AMS-IX to the Console Connect ecosystem. Our MeetingPlace is now home to a global community of IX reseller partners, enabling our users to provision and pay for their IX services and virtual connections in a few clicks,” says Michael Glynn, Vice President of Digital Automated Innovation at Console Connect.

“AMS-IX is excited to offer automated access to our platform in Amsterdam via Console Connect. Through this collaboration, we are able to extend our peering coverage globally, while allowing customers to manage and monitor their global connectivity through a single platform,” says AMS-IX Head of Product Aleksandar Mitrov.
