Established in the early 1990s, AMS-IX (Amsterdam Internet Exchange) is a neutral, independent and very well-respected Internet Exchange based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. AMS-IX has over 700 IP networks connected and its business traffic peaks at almost 4 Terabit per second, making it the largest Internet Exchange in the world.
AMS-IX’s Partner Program allows third parties like Console Network Solutions to resell AMS-IX ports anywhere they have infrastructure connected to the Amsterdam-based exchange. The program excelled as it allowed partners to resell lower port capacities, therefore enabling smaller ISPs and networks who may not have had high enough volumes of traffic, or who could financially justify connecting directly, still manage to connect to the exchange and enjoy the benefits and value of peering.
AMS-IX’s partners are ranked in order of how many customers and how much capacity they bring to the exchange; Console Network Solutions is proud to have achieved Gold status with AMS-IX’s partner programme. To qualify as Gold Partner, partners have to sell more than 14 applications or 60GE of port capacity per year.
Access switches to the AMS-IX peering platform are located in the following data centers – however, as with all our Internet Exchange partners, through the IX remote peering programme, any IX partner can be reached by connecting your network to anyConsole Network Solutions PoP.
• TelecityGroup AMS2
• TelecityGroup AMS5
• TelecityGroup AMS4
• Global Switch
• Equinix AM1/2
• Equinix AM3
• Vancis B.V.
Console Connect’s virtual interconnection and peering solutions enables network expansion by connecting customers to the IXPs remotely, eliminating the need for extra infrastructure, dealing with contractual and legal issues and different technical teams.
